The Weeks Hill Road bridge suffered a bridge deck failure on June 11th. In response the Town placed steel plates to stabilize the load bearing capacity, but the bridge can only carry passenger vehicles until the bridge deck is replaced. It cannot handle commercial vehicles or any other vehicle over five tons. Please seek alternative routes.
Public Works is seeing proposals to try to get the bridge deck replaced prior to winter, but it depends on the availability of materials and contractors. The estimated cost is $1,000,000 +/-.
