Up to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus for Vermont Certified Officers

The Stowe Police Department is seeking a full-time police officer to help fulfill its mission to provide quality service in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner. Corporal status may be considered based on qualifications.

Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus for Vermont certified officers, with half paid upon hire and half after one year.  Minimum starting pay for a certified officer is $28.88 per hour ($31.86 for Corporal) and may be higher depending on qualifications and experience.

Applicants must be 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen, possess a High School diploma or equivalent, and possess a valid Driver’s License. Applicant must be able to perform all the essential functions involved with police duties. The hiring process includes a physical fitness examination, polygraph, oral board, written exam, medical exam, fingerprint check, and extensive background check.
