Assistant Public Works Director – Capital Projects

The Town of Stowe Public Works Department is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Public Works Director for Capital Projects to provide capital improvement planning, management, and technical support for general fund projects.

Key responsibilities include evaluating the need for new capital projects and replacement of existing infrastructure for long and short-term, preparing capital improvement budgets, and ensuring success from conception to preparing RFP and managing completion.   The ideal candidate will be personable, have an excellent communication style with attention to detail and follow through and a keen ability to work well under pressure. 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred with 5 years of progressive responsibilities.  Knowledge in civil engineering, construction and/or Public Works management, including at least 3 years as a Superintendent and/or Project Manager associated with the design, construction, operations, with stormwater experience a plus, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.  VT Professional Engineer License preferred but not required.  Must possess a valid State of Vermont driver’s license.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 DOQ
